Abstract

The main purpose of this study is to discover the theological principle regarding the phrase "God became sin" in 2 Corinthians 5:21. This study elaborates on the theological implications for human redemption and analyzes its relationship with the work of the cross of Christ. The methodology employed here is a descriptive qualitative approach, using exegetical techniques. The research analysis is inductive and follows a method of analyzing the text's literary and grammatical aspects. To gather data, the researcher references theological literature that addresses relevant theological matters. This study found that Christ is a sin offering and not a sin. Christ’s sinlessness became the perfect sacrifice to atone for human sin. This would also be in accordance with the concept that it is impossible for sin to be the atonement for sin.
